Together We Decide: the Lido game for healthy families to learn about antenatal care

Together We Decide: Antenatal Care is a Lido (Snakes & Ladders) game created and tested for the Breakthrough ACTION: South Sudan initiative. The project's task is to co-design, develop, pilot, and refine social behavior change (SBC) packages that will be utilized and implemented by multiple USAID-supported projects and host country government programs.

Through gamification, the Lido board game spreads antenatal care (ANC) supportive behaviors and facts. The game features three sets of question cards allowing participants to reflect on ANC behaviors they should adopt or encourage others to adopt.

The game has been appreciated by South Sudan participants during testing sessions and developed based on their needs and recommendations.

The gameboard includes 37 questions cards allowing participants to reflect on ANC behaviors and local cultural beliefs.

The ladders and snakes on the board add complexity and enable players to move faster or slower through the game.
